BASED NEAR BRIGHTON · WEDDINGS ACROSS WEST SUSSEX + BEYOND
West Sussex Wedding Photographer
Your wedding should feel incredible. Your photographs should bring it all back.
As one of the top wedding photographers in Sussex,I have photographed weddings across West Sussex, from manor houses and barns to marquees, churches, gardens and celebrations at family homes.
Some of those venues I know extremely well. Others I’ve walked into for the first time on the wedding morning. Either way, the job is the same: read the space, read the light, understand your people and work out what this particular wedding needs.

THE PHOTOGRAPHS YOU COULDN’T PLAN — AND THE ONES WORTH PLANNING FOR
A familiar venue is useful. Fresh eyes matter more.
I’ve photographed some West Sussex venues again and again. That gives me useful knowledge, but it never gives me a formula. The weather changes. The light changes. The layout changes. Most importantly, the people change.
A venue I’ve photographed ten times shouldn’t look like I’ve photographed it ten times.
And if yours is somewhere completely new to me, that doesn’t put me at a disadvantage. Fifteen-plus years of photographing weddings means I know how to walk into a space, work out what matters quickly and make decisions without relying on somebody else’s shot list.
I don’t arrive trying to recreate photographs I made there last time. I work out what makes sense for you.
Before the wedding I learn who your people are and what you care about, so on the day I can pay attention to the right things and keep portraits efficient.
you straight back to the party.
WEST SUSSEX WEDDING VENUES
Some familiar. Some brand new. None photographed on autopilot.
I’ve photographed some West Sussex venues often enough to have seen them in completely different conditions, seasons and versions of a wedding.
That familiarity is useful. I know the practical quirks, how spaces change throughout the day and what happens when Plan A becomes Plan B. But it doesn't mean arriving with photographs I've already decided to make.
A venue I've photographed ten times shouldn't look like I've photographed it ten times.
The best proof that I don’t photograph every venue the same way is the weddings themselves. Different people, different priorities, different weather, different energy. Have a look at what actually happened.
I don’t need to have photographed your venue before to photograph it well. Familiarity can give me a head start. Knowing how to read light, people and a wedding day is the skill I bring everywhere.
FAMILIAR VENUE · OR FIRST VISIT
I don’t need a favourite corner of your venue.
Knowing a venue can be helpful. I may already know how the light moves through a room or where guests naturally gather. But I never want familiarity to become repetition.
If it’s my first visit, I do what I’ve done for more than fifteen years: look properly, read the light, the layout, watch the weather and the way your day is actually unfolding.
I do the thinking before the moment, so I can leave the moment alone.
Experience should make me quicker at seeing possibilities, not more likely to repeat myself. Your photographs should belong to your wedding, whether I know every doorway or I’m seeing the place with you for the first time.

WHAT WORKING WITH ME ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
The photographs can feel effortless because the thinking isn’t.
My approach is people-first and largely documentary, with direction when it helps and plenty of thinking before a moment ever reaches the camera.
I learn who your people are.
Names, relationships and context help me recognise the moments that matter to you. It also makes family photographs dramatically less painful when I can call people by name instead of shouting “bride’s brother?” into a crowd.
I protect what you’re actually excited about.
If you want to actually attend your drinks reception, I plan portraits around that. If family photographs matter, we make them efficient. If you hate being photographed, I don’t spend an hour making you perform for me.
I’m looking beyond the obvious photograph.
The kiss matters. So does the person crying three rows back, the look between your parents and the friend already reaching for you before you make it down the aisle.
I’ll give direction when it helps.
Couple portraits should not feel like an acting lesson. I’ll get you into good light, give you something useful to do and make small adjustments when they actually improve the photograph.
The plan can change without the day falling apart.
I’ve photographed enough British weddings to know that weather apps do not get final say. We move things, wait for gaps, use indoor light and make decisions around the day you’re actually having.
Your photographs should still look like your life.
My colour work stays true to life, alongside black-and-white photographs where the moment suits it. I want skin to look like skin, greenery to look green and your flowers to look like the flowers you chose.
KIND WORDS
“Kelsie also has an amazing knack at remembering names which our guests loved, and made them feel extra special being ‘known by the photographer!’”

WEST SUSSEX WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
Planning a wedding in West Sussex? A few useful answers.
Where are you based?
I’m based on the edge of Brighton and photograph weddings across West Sussex, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Midhurst and the surrounding countryside.
Which West Sussex wedding venues have you photographed?
I’ve photographed weddings at venues including Findon Place, Bignor Park, The Walled Garden at Cowdray and around Worthing and Brighton, as well as church weddings, private estates and marquee celebrations across the county.
Does it matter if you haven’t photographed our venue before?
No. Knowing a venue can be useful because I already understand its quirks, but I don’t need a pre-existing shot list to photograph a wedding well. Reading light, understanding how a day flows and paying attention to people are skills I bring to every venue — including ones I’m seeing for the first time.
What is your wedding photography style?
People-first and largely documentary, with direction when it is useful. I want the day to look and feel like yours, while still making sure portraits and family photographs are flattering, efficient and worth printing.
Do you photograph weddings outside West Sussex?
Absolutely. West Sussex is local, but I regularly photograph weddings across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London and further afield in the UK and overseas.
How long do couple photographs usually take?
There is no mandatory hour-long portrait session. Many of my couples prefer a couple of short pockets during the day so they can spend the drinks reception with their guests. We plan it around what you actually want.
What happens if it rains?
We adapt. I’ll look at the light, the venue and the forecast and move photographs around rather than forcing them into a bad weather window simply because a timeline says it is portrait time.
How much does West Sussex wedding photography cost?
My wedding collections vary depending on the amount of coverage and what you want included. You can see current starting prices on my wedding pricing page, and you do not need to choose the perfect collection before you enquire.
