This vineyard legal wedding photography in Sussex was taken three days before E+J's incredible wedding at Buxted Park Hotel! Unable to get the registrar at their desired time of day, they opted to complete the legal paperwork a few days before in no-frills ceremony.

Their wedding photography package included an engagement session, so they asked if they could do the session on the day of the legal ceremony. They wanted to make the day a bit more special and make the best out of the situation. Of course my answer was yes! Photographing a couple's legal ceremony is something I offer all my couples.

Originally they planned to have me cover the ceremony, but once they reserved a vineyard for their lunch, E+J knew they wanted pictures there instead.

E+J had a nice meal at a vineyard after the ceremony and asked me to meet up with them after to take photographs in the vineyard. It was really hot that day and very bright in the noon sunshine, so we found what shade we could and created some gorgeous magic! I found this little nook as we were about to finish up and had to take a few more before we walked back to the restaurant.

I've had a few couples frustrated with the availability of their local registrar. For the ones that have gone ahead despite the frustration, I've found it's always been for the best! While some couples have turned their weddings into a multi-day celebration, others have opted for a no-frills ceremony at the registrar. A no-frills ceremony means the couple just does the paperwork and legalities of the ceremony.

As someone who was born and raised in the United States, this is the kind of practice I'm used to. All couples go to the city hall and fill out the paperwork, and then anyone they want can marry them. And that's the major benefit of a no-frills ceremony. You can have friends and family marry you and craft a ceremony that suits you pefectly.

Till next time,
Kelsie
