UK ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

A wedding day with fewer expectations and more of the two of you.

Whether you're travelling to England to get married somewhere beautiful, exchanging vows somewhere that means something to you, or simply choosing a wedding day that looks nothing like the traditional version, you still deserve photographs that hold onto how it all felt.

DO IT YOUR WAY

Eloping isn't about doing less. It's about making the day entirely your own.

Maybe you wake up somewhere beautiful, get ready together, exchange your vows on a cliff and spend the rest of the day exploring. Maybe the legal bit happens quietly in the morning and afterwards you disappear somewhere that feels much more like the two of you.

Or maybe you fly to England because you want getting married to feel like part of an incredible trip rather than an event you've spent eighteen months producing.

There doesn't need to be a reception, a running order or a list of traditions to work through. We start with where you want to be, what you actually want to do and how you want the day to feel.

Keep what matters. Leave out what doesn't.

YOU DON'T NEED A FINISHED ITINERARY

Tell me how you want it to feel. We can work backwards from there.

You don't need to know exactly where you want to go, how long photography should last or whether the beautiful spot you found online actually works at four o'clock in October.

I can help you think through locations, light, realistic travel times, crowds, weather and how much you can comfortably fit into the day without turning your elopement into an endurance event.

If the Sussex coast is part of the dream, you're particularly in my wheelhouse. I've spent years photographing around Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and the surrounding coastline, where the experience can change completely depending on the light, tide, crowds and wind.

The goal isn't to turn a simple wedding into a production. It's to make a good plan so you don't have to think about the plan while you're living it.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

Your elopement is not a photoshoot with vows attached.

Just because you've chosen somewhere spectacular doesn't mean the entire day needs to become one long portrait session.

Most of the time I'm watching what is actually happening: the nerves beforehand, the look between you during the ceremony and those first slightly disbelieving minutes after you realise you're actually married.

When we make portraits, I'll choose beautiful light, step in when you need direction and give you something to react to rather than asking you to perform a catalogue of poses.

And yes, if we've travelled somewhere incredible, we're absolutely going to use it. We just won't forget to actually experience it while we're there.

I want the photographs to remind you what it felt like to be there, not just prove that you were.

WHAT COULD YOUR ELOPEMENT LOOK LIKE?

There is more than one way to disappear for the day.

The point isn't to squeeze a traditional wedding into fewer hours. It's to decide what the two of you actually want to do with the day.

01

Keep it simple

Vows, time together and somewhere beautiful afterwards. Nothing added simply because weddings are apparently supposed to have a running order.

02

Go somewhere

Make the location part of the experience. One place or several, city to coast, countryside to cliffs. We build the photography around what you want to do rather than stopping the day for photographs.

03

Make a day of it

Getting ready, vows, travelling, eating, exploring and finishing somewhere spectacular. If you've travelled to the UK to elope, the adventure can be every bit as important as the ceremony.

SO, WHERE ARE WE GOING?

City streets, wild coastline or somewhere nobody expected you to get married.

I'm based on the south coast of England and photograph weddings throughout the UK. You might be picturing white cliffs and sea air, an old English town followed by lunch in a pub, a London ceremony with the city as your backdrop, or countryside where it feels as though nobody else exists.

If you already know where, brilliant. If all you've got is “somewhere dramatic near the sea”, that's enough to start with too.

ELOPEMENT OR INTIMATE WEDDING?

Honestly, the label doesn't matter very much.

If you're building the day primarily around the two of you, where you want to go and what you want to experience together, you're probably in exactly the right place.

If what you're planning feels more like a wedding celebration that happens to be beautifully small, a ceremony with your favourite people followed by photographs, drinks or dinner, my Intimate Weddings page may be the more useful place to start.

There's plenty of overlap. You don't need to work out which category you technically belong in before getting in touch.

COVERAGE THAT FOLLOWS THE EXPERIENCE

Tell me what you want to do. We'll work out the photography from there.

From £500

Local elopement coverage begins at £500 for the first hour, with additional photography available from £300 per hour.

Travelling further across the UK? I'll build the quote around where we're going, what you want to do and how much of the experience you'd like photographed.

And if you have no idea whether that means two hours or most of the day, don't guess. Send me the plan you have so far and I'll tell you what I'd recommend.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

The practical bits.

Can you help us choose where to elope?

Absolutely. If you already have somewhere in mind, I can help you work out the best timing and how photography fits around it. If you're starting with nothing more specific than coastline, countryside or city, we can narrow things down from there.

Can we legally get married anywhere outdoors in England?

Not quite. Where the legal ceremony can happen depends on the location and type of ceremony you're planning. If the cliff, beach or woodland you love isn't somewhere the legal marriage can take place, one option is to complete the legal part separately and have your vows or a celebrant-led ceremony somewhere meaningful. I always recommend confirming the legal requirements directly with the relevant registrar or venue before making firm plans.

Do you photograph elopements throughout the UK?

Yes. I'm based in Sussex, which makes southern England wonderfully easy, but I'm very happy to travel. Tell me where you're considering and I'll make any travel costs clear from the start.

Can anyone else come with us?

Of course. You might have witnesses, your children, your parents or a handful of people there for the ceremony and still build the rest of the day very much around the two of you.

What happens if the weather is awful?

We plan intelligently rather than pretending Britain has suddenly developed a reliable climate. Depending on the location and the day, that might mean adjusting timings, changing the order, having a backup spot or embracing a bit of weather when it's safe and still enjoyable.

How much photography coverage do we actually need?

That depends less on the word elopement and more on what you want to do. A ceremony and one location may only need a couple of hours. If getting ready, travelling, eating, exploring and chasing the evening light are all part of the experience, the photography can follow much more of the day. Send me the rough plan and I'll tell you what I think makes sense.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

You don't need to know exactly what the day looks like yet.

Give me a date if you've got one, a place if you've found it and tell me what you're excited about. If the rest is still a little fuzzy, that's absolutely fine.
