Rottingdean Engagement photos are always magic to me. This seaside village is the perfect spot for proposals and engagements.
Many of my clients say they love beautiful gardens, but also love the sea – and for those people, I always recommend Kipling Gardens and Rottingdean seafront. It’s a quick 10 minute walk between the two, and Rottingdean high street also makes for beautiful photographs.
Rottingdean is truly one of my favourite places in the world and gives such an incredible variety for photographs.
About the Couple
When Juli planned a trip to visit Benjamin, he knew now was his chance to propose. Their long distance relationship began when he accepted a job offer in the UK. Being unmarried and in university, Juli had to stay in the US.
But both were so ready to kiss their long distance relationship goodbye. So for Juli’s birthday, Benjamin planned a romantic weekend-getaway to Brighton to propose. He knew she would want engagement photographs as engagement announcements and save-the-dates with professional photographs are very common in the US. So he wanted this to be her birthday present and the opportunity for her to dress with this in mind.
This shoot took place a few hours after the proposal, where he asked her to marry him at Seven Sisters (you can see a similar proposal here).
We started at Kipling Gardens as it was a really windy day in February (these were taken in 2019, so just before COVID) before heading to the seafront and enduring the cold.
Kipling Gardens Engagement Photos
Kipling Gardens was the perfect spot for their engagement session. The walled gardens provided the perfect protection against the wind.
The garden is free and open to the public and where Rudyard Kipling lived – hence the name. And it is truly a gem of a garden with a croquet lawn, wild garden and rose garden. It is also right next to a pond near The Plough Inn and St. Margaret Church. And honestly? It’s just a stunning place.
Rottingdean and Seafront Engagement Photos
We were all freezing on the seafront in Rottingdean, but here are some beautiful engagement photos we took against the white cliffs of the South Coast.
