As a photographer, there’s something so special about capturing the moments that lead up to a wedding—especially when it’s at a place as picturesque as Bury Manor Barn in East Sussex. Jen and Dale’s engagement shoot by the River Arun was pure magic, and it gave us a little sneak peek into their wedding day. A few weeks later we'd return to the same place for their stunning Scottish wedding celebration.

The peaceful flow of the River Arun provided the perfect backdrop for Jen and Dale’s engagement photos. Nestled in the quiet beauty of Bury, this area is a hidden gem.
Jen and Dale were a joy to photograph, though I will say Dale was one of my hesitant grooms! So I had to work with my wicked charm and sense of humour to get him to relax. Thankfully their River Arun engagement photography paid off as he was recreating moments we captured at the engagement shoot on the wedding day and was full of praise. He even left me one of the nicest reviews after their wedding at Bury Manor Barn!
The engagement shoot also ensured that I brought a pair of wellies for J just in case she forgot her own on the wedding day. Which ended up paying off. I was able to lend the shoes to J and ensure the couple could have their dream backdrops for their photographs.
