Located near Hailsham in East Sussex, the barn at Michelham Priory is a stunning wedding venue to photograph. It’s full of so history and beautiful surroundings and made for the perfect backdrop for Claire and Alex’s wedding day.
Summer Wedding at Michelham Priory
Claire and Alex meet while he was working in Canada, so this was a destination wedding of sorts for Claire. As I’m also from across the pond, it was so fun to be surrounded by some fellow Americans and Canadians and talk with them about the history of Michelham Priory. Right next to Michelham Priory’s barn, there were some medieval activities going on – and you can bet most of the guests wondered over there to play some games and shoot some bows and arrows!
Here’s a quick sneak peek of a few photographs I took during Claire and Alex’s wedding day at Michelham Priory. The tall beams and rafters in the barn are absolutely to die for, and I loved the way they looked wrapped in fairy lights. Plus, the green and gold chairs might be my favourite detail of the day – they looked so elegant and fit perfectly with the venue. The flowers were sourced by his mother from her massive garden, and I just loved the personal touch they brought to the wedding.
It was an honour to photograph this wedding at Michelham Priory’s barn alongside fellow wedding photographer, Nick Parker.
Till the next wedding bells ring,
