Southover Grange wedding photography at Lewes Registry Office
Chelsea and Robert were one of those Covid couples who were especially unlucky and doubly stressed. Hit by lockdown restrictions, they ended up with not one, not two, but three weddings to plan! Because Chelsea was over on a fiance visa, they needed to be legally married before her visa expired. So because of the pandemic, not only did they need to elope now, but they also needed to split their big wedding into two celebrations: one in the US and one in the UK.
Their elopement ended up being postponed twice and their UK wedding was postponed once with the added stress of venue changes for their ceremony and reception. By the time Chelsea was finally able to do her elopement wedding, she was days away from her fiance visa expiring.
Talk about a headache!
But somehow through it all, Chelsea and Robert went with the flow and kept each other sane.
Their joy during their elopement at their Lewes Register Office wedding was so contagious. Just look at those smiles!

Lewes Register Office Wedding
Lewes Registry Office has two ceremony rooms at Southover Grange. The Evelyn Room has a maximum capacity of 30 and The Ainsworth Room has a maximum capacity for 60. Both are incredible. I love the modern, yet elegant decor of this registry office. The stunning louis chairs are better than you get at many high end wedding venues!
The register office in Lewes is also just a 10 minute walk from the train station, and while there is no free parking, there is plenty on-street. The registry office is also not far the Lewes High Street – which is incredibly picturesque!
In short, not only is this building a gorgeous 16th Century Grade II listed manor, it is also situated in the beautiful Southover Grange public gardens. And whilst I love these gardens, I do have one word of warning! It is a fairly popular location for parents to bring their children after school, so be mindful of that when choosing the timing of your ceremony.
