Lains Barn in Wantage is a stunning wedding venue and the perfect backdrop for a special celebration. I’ve also been a huge fan of barn weddings, and Lains Barn definitely tops the list of best barn wedding venues!
I just had to share Olivia and Jonty’s stunning wedding at Lains Barns, and hope if you stumble across this blog post, you get in touch so I can hear what you’re dreaming up for your big day!
Lains Barn Wedding with Oxford Wedding Photographer
I dare say Olivia’s brother knew her better than herself. And I know he was smiling down at them on this incredible day.
Jonty has been smitten with Olivia for several years, but they only officially started dating when the pandemic hit. Thanks in part to a bit of meddling from her brother, Sam, and fellow friend, Jack.
And I can’t even begin to imagine what Jonty’s unconditional love and support has meant to Olivia. Their shared faith and commitment, as well as his willingness to move to Australia in the autumn, only scratches the surface of their bond.
It was a massive honour to be their wedding photographer at Lains Barn. We visited Sam’s school after the ceremony and throughout the entire day everyone could feel his presence.
The confetti was an incredibly special touch. All the petals were from flowers Jonty and Olivia had received over the past year celebrating their engagement, but also those Jonty bought every month since cancer claimed Sam’s body.
This wedding was not only a celebration of their love, but a clear thank you to Sam for helping bring them together – and for being an incredible brother and friend.
Their Lains Barn wedding photography turned out to be incredibly stunning, but getting special permission from Worcester College to celebrate their day was incredibly special. Sam went to such a beautiful school, and being that much closer to him on their day was indescribably special. Weddings at Worcester College must be something else!

Whilst I had the honour of being the Lains Barn wedding photographer for this wedding, the day wouldn’t have been possible without these amazing businesses. Though it might surprise you when I say loads of wedding details were done by Olivia and family!

Lains Barn is an Oxford Wedding Venue
With ample shelter and indoor spaces as well as a lawned courtyard, Lains Barn wedding venue is perfect year round. The barn dates back to 1750 and I love the black exterior. My favourite aspect has to be the built-in sofa seating areas in the main hall along with the festoon lighting.
Though Jonty and Olivia opted to wed at their church, Lains Barn is also approved for a civil ceremony.
The wedding venue holds up to 180 people with loads of car parking and nearby hotel accommodation.
Keep an eye on their social media channels for the next Lains Barn wedding fair if you haven’t yet booked been to this stunning venue for your special day. This is the perfect time to see the venue fully decorated and even meet some suppliers.
