INTIMATE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER · SUSSEX + BRIGHTON
A smaller wedding with all the feeling still in it.
A ceremony with your favourite people. A bit of time for photographs. Drinks, lunch, dinner, speeches — or none of those things unless you actually want them.
I photograph intimate weddings across Brighton, Sussex, London and beyond with the same attention I bring to a full wedding day: the people, the little reactions, the beautiful bits we plan for and the things nobody could have planned.

SMALL BY DESIGN
Small guest list. Full wedding.
An intimate wedding is not a lesser version of a big one. It is a wedding where you can actually see everyone you invited, hear the conversations happening around you and spend the day with the people who matter most.
You might be getting married at Brighton Town Hall, Lewes Register Office, a little country venue, a restaurant, your family home or somewhere that only needs one long table.
The scale changes. The significance doesn't.

WHAT CAN AN INTIMATE WEDDING LOOK LIKE?
There isn't one right way to keep it small.
The useful question is not what you call it. It is what you actually want to spend the day doing.
01
Town hall + somewhere lovely afterwards
Get married in the city, walk out into confetti, make a few portraits nearby and take everyone you love somewhere good for lunch or dinner.
02
Register office + family celebration
The ceremony, the congratulations, the group photographs that matter and enough time afterwards for the gallery to feel like a celebration rather than a legal appointment.
03
A genuinely small wedding day
Getting ready, ceremony, drinks, dinner and perhaps even speeches — just with fewer people and much less pressure to fill the day with traditions you don't care about.

SHORTER COVERAGE, WITHOUT THE RUSH
A shorter wedding needs a clearer plan, not a faster one.
When photography is only there for a few hours, I am very aware that every twenty minutes has a job to do. The ceremony still starts when it starts. Guests still want to hug you. Group photographs still require finding actual humans. Travelling between places still takes real time.
So we work out the priorities before the day. Which people do you definitely want together? Do you care more about the anticipation beforehand or the celebration afterwards? Is there somewhere nearby that gives us lovely couple photographs without disappearing for half an hour?
The goal is not to squeeze more in. It is to protect the bits you care about.
How many hours of photography do you actually need?

THE PHOTOGRAPHY
The people are the point.
With a smaller wedding, I usually know almost everyone by name pretty quickly. That is a gift. It means I can notice the relationships, watch the room properly and make photographs that feel specific to your people rather than generic wedding coverage.
I will still step in when something needs direction. I will organise group photographs efficiently. I will give you prompts when we make portraits so you have something to react to rather than standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
Then I disappear back into the background and let the day carry on.
I don't want a smaller wedding to feel like a smaller photographic story.
WHERE SMALL WEDDINGS WORK BEAUTIFULLY
Brighton, Lewes and the places in between.
I am based in Brighton & Hove and photograph intimate weddings across East and West Sussex, London and further afield.
Register offices and town halls work particularly well when the rest of the day is allowed to feel like the two of you: a walk through town, drinks with everyone, a favourite restaurant, a private room, a family garden or simply somewhere beautiful for a little while.

YOUR PEOPLE, WITHOUT LOSING THE DAY
Group photographs can still be quick — and still matter.
On a shorter wedding, the quickest way to lose time is deciding group photographs on the pavement while everyone is already drifting towards lunch.
I will help you work out the combinations that genuinely matter, put them in an efficient order and make sure we are not photographing the same eight people six different ways unless there is a good reason.
You get the photographs your families will actually print, without turning the afternoon into a school photo day.

INTIMATE WEDDING OR ELOPEMENT?
If the day is really built around just the two of you, start here instead.
There is plenty of overlap, and you do not need to diagnose your own wedding before you enquire.
But if the experience is primarily about the two of you — travelling somewhere, exchanging vows privately, exploring and making a day of it together — my Elopements page will probably feel more like what you are planning.
COVERAGE THAT FITS THE WEDDING
Tell me what matters most. I'll tell you how much time I'd recommend.
You do not need to decide whether you need two hours, three hours or most of the day before you enquire.
Send me the ceremony time, the locations you are considering and the parts you care about. I will look at the logistics and tell you what I think is realistic — including when I think you can comfortably book less.
Shorter wedding coverage is available subject to date and availability. The current pricing page has the up-to-date numbers and booking minimums.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING
The practical bits.
How many guests counts as an intimate wedding?
There is no official number I use. It is more about the shape of the day than a guest-count cut-off. If you are planning a deliberately smaller celebration where the ceremony and time with your closest people are the heart of it, you are in the right place.
Can we book only a few hours of photography?
Yes, subject to the date and availability. Short coverage works brilliantly when the priorities are clear. Tell me the ceremony time, locations and what matters most, and I will help you work out what realistically fits.
Do you photograph Brighton Town Hall and Lewes Register Office weddings?
Yes. I photograph both, along with small civil ceremonies and celebrations across Sussex. I also know how much the experience changes depending on what you plan immediately before and after the ceremony.
Will we still get family and group photographs?
Absolutely. With shorter coverage, I simply want the list agreed beforehand so we can move through it efficiently and protect your time with everyone.
Can you help us build the timeline?
Yes. I will look at ceremony timings, travel, parking, walking time, group photographs, portraits and what you want photographed afterwards. The plan should make the day easier, not turn it into a production schedule.
Do you travel outside Sussex for intimate weddings?
Yes. I am based in Brighton & Hove and regularly work beyond Sussex. Send me the location and I will make any travel costs clear before you book.
READY WHEN YOU ARE
You do not need a big wedding to have a day worth remembering properly.
Give me the date if you have one, the ceremony location if you know it and tell me what you actually want the day to feel like. If the rest is still taking shape, that is completely fine.
