I’ve photographed celebrations using Findon Place in completely different ways — from church and garden ceremonies to rainy-day vows in The Hall, Ballroom dinners, drinks around the house and pool, and marquees filling the gardens.

Vows outside with the gardens doing most of the decorating for you.
St John the Baptist
A proper church wedding with the enormous advantage of being next door to the celebration rather than a long drive away.
Drinks reception front of house
A more architectural backdrop, with the front lawn and house keeping everybody close to the heart of Findon Place.

The Ballroom can feel beautifully understated or transform completely with florals and table styling.

Knowing Findon Place lets me work faster. Knowing your people tells me where to look.
Venue experience matters. I know how Findon Place flows, how the light changes and which spaces work beautifully when the weather changes.
But before your wedding I also take time to understand the people who matter to you — names, relationships and the pieces of context that help me recognise when something seemingly small is actually important.
Your guests aren’t scenery around your wedding. They’re a huge part of why you’re planning a proper celebration in the first place.
So while I’ll always photograph the obvious moment, I’m looking beyond it too: at the person who raised you, the friendship that has carried you through half your life, or the reaction across the room that you never even knew happened.
That’s how you end up with photographs that couldn’t have been written onto a shot list.
THE TWO OF YOU
Beautiful photographs without disappearing from your own wedding.
Findon Place gives us an enormous amount of variety within a very small area: the Georgian house with its spiral staircase and Drawing Room fireplace, formal gardens, terraces, ivy-covered walls that turn red by late September, and quieter corners of the grounds can all feel completely different in photographs.
Most of my couples would much rather spend their drinks reception with the people they invited than turn it into a portrait session.
So we might take a couple of short pockets of time during the day — perhaps a few minutes after the ceremony and another few when the evening light does something gorgeous.
Enough direction that you never wonder what you’re meant to be doing; enough freedom that the photographs still feel like the two of you rather than a performance for my camera.

I’ve seen Findon Place become a lot of different weddings.
Which is exactly why I don’t arrive with one fixed formula for photographing yours.
Getting ready at Findon Place
The rooms in this house have been so carefully considered by Caroline, the venue owner.
The getting-ready spaces are generous, with enough room for everyone to actually move around. That gives me far more freedom to document the morning unobtrusively rather than constantly rearranging people, bags and furniture around a tiny room.
Caroline also has a brilliant eye for design and photography. Mirrors, doorways, layers and carefully considered sightlines create gorgeous framing opportunities for how I tell the story of the morning.
Ceremonies at Findon Place
I’ve photographed ceremonies in Findon Place’s gardens, The Hall when it rains, as well as weddings at St John the Baptist next door.
Any of these options lets the celebration flow naturally back into the house and grounds instead of losing a huge chunk of the day to travel.
Marquee weddings at Findon Place
A marquee lets a larger wedding spill into the gardens while still keeping the house, pool and grounds part of the celebration.
I’ve photographed very different marquee setups here — from colourful garden-inspired florals to more classic celebrations — and they can make the same estate feel completely different.
Rainy Findon Place weddings
Rain changes the plan. It doesn’t ruin the photographs.
Knowing Findon Place means I already know which rooms work, what can move within the timeline and when it makes more sense to wait twenty minutes rather than forcing photographs into the weather simply because a schedule says it is portrait time.
Wedding weekends + rehearsals
Amanda and Ian’s destination wedding weekend is a perfect example of why photographing more than the wedding day can be so valuable.
Photographing their rehearsal gathering meant I arrived the following morning having already watched relationships unfold and put faces to some of the people around them.
The people between the planned moments
Findon Place gives guests room to wander between the house, terrace, pool and gardens instead of keeping everybody penned into one reception space.
Photographically, those in-between pockets are gold. They’re where people find each other, conversations happen and the wedding begins to feel like yours rather than a sequence of events.

But there’s another very practical advantage to choosing me. I’m only around twenty minutes away. You really can’t get much more local than that.
I know Findon Place because I photograph here regularly. It's my favourite place in the world as everything is so carefully considered, down to the colour of the fire hydrants. It is well and truly a photographer dream to be local to this venue.

These are the photographs you find on the Findon Place website and on the venue's walls. My fun and candid approach that is infused with an editorial eye makes me a firm favourite among couples who want the best of both worlds.
Have you photographed weddings at Findon Place before?
Many times. My Findon Place wedding photography includes outdoor ceremonies, ceremonies in The Hall, church weddings, Ballroom celebrations, marquee weddings, wedding weekends and a day-after session.
Can you photograph our rehearsal or whole Findon Place wedding weekend?
Absolutely. Full weekend wedding coverage is my absolute favourite thing! Some of my collections include proposal coverage and couples have opted for weekend coverage instead.
Covering more of the weekend can be particularly lovely because I get to know more of the people and relationships before the wedding day begins. Everyone is relaxed around me the second I walk in on the day and know exactly what I'm about.
What happens if it rains on our Findon Place wedding day?
We adapt rather than panic. Findon Place gives us beautiful indoor spaces as well as the gardens, and because I already know the venue I can move portraits or family photographs around if a better weather window appears later.
Amanda and Ian’s rainy destination wedding at Findon Place is a brilliant example of a day that was beautiful without pretending the rain wasn’t happening. If you've got me on your team of suppliers, I'm helping it to run smoothly. For Amanda and Ian, I helped the planner avoid a meltdown with advice on how to fit all the chairs in the room and still look good. That's what my eye is for and I'm always there to help ensure the day runs smoothly and on time.
How long do couple photographs take at Findon Place?
There is no mandatory hour-long portrait session. Plenty of my couples prefer a couple of short windows during the day, while others want to carve out a little more time and properly enjoy the breather together.
We plan it around what you actually value rather than what a generic wedding timeline says you’re supposed to do. I've had couples who just want pictures as guests file into the marquee and nothing else. It's all about what you two want.
Can you photograph a church and marquee wedding at Findon Place?
Yes. I’ve photographed weddings at St John the Baptist next door followed by marquee receptions in the Findon Place grounds. Having everything so close together is one of the reasons the day can flow so naturally.
Do you photograph destination weddings at Findon Place?
Yes. I’m American-born and Sussex-based, which can be particularly useful for couples planning an English wedding from the US. Amanda and Ian travelled from America for their Findon Place wedding weekend, which was later published by Tidewater & Tulle.
Where is Findon Place?
Findon Place is in Findon, West Sussex, just north of Worthing. I’m based nearby in Sussex and am only around twenty minutes from the venue.
How much does a Findon Place wedding cost?
Wedding venue hire is currently listed from £10,500, with options rising to around £20,500 depending on the package and length of stay. The starting price is based on a weekend wedding in July, so it’s always worth checking with the venue for the price and inclusions for your date.
How much does a Findon Place wedding photographer cost?
My full-day wedding collections start at £2,500 for 8 hours. Most Findon Place couples choose 10 hours (£3,000) so the day is covered from getting ready through to the first dance, and plenty add a rehearsal or a day-after pool session for a wedding weekend. Can you get married outdoors at Findon Place?
Yes. Findon Place is licensed for outdoor wedding ceremonies, as well as ceremonies inside the house. The gardens give you several ways to make the ceremony feel part of the estate, while The Hall and Ballroom give you strong indoor options if the weather changes.
How many guests can you have at a Findon Place wedding?
It depends on how you use the spaces and whether you choose a marquee. The Ballroom can seat up to 64 on 5ft round tables or 52 on two long trestle tables. For bigger weddings, a marquee in the grounds lets the celebration grow while the house and gardens stay part of the day.
Can we have photos in the pool at Findon Place?
Absolutely, if you’re up for it. The pool is heated, and I’ve photographed a day-after session here that ended with the couple jumping in. It’s definitely not a requirement, but it’s a brilliant way to carry the celebration into the next day.
