Findon Place photos fill my soul with such happiness. Every detail and inch of this venue is a joy to photograph. Caroline, the owner of Findon Place, has well and truly thought of everything.
But more than the picture perfect moments, it’s the people. I am convinced this venue attracts the loveliest people. Every Findon Place Wedding has been incredible.
And this wedding is perhaps one of my favourites! From voguing out in the drawing room to spraying champagne all over the lawn, these two had a vision. But above all, they just wanted to have fun and host an incredible celebration of their love.
Getting Ready at Findon Place
Both Loren and Matt got ready at Findon Place. With Loren in The Best Bedroom Suite. These is perhaps my favourite getting ready space I’ve ever been in. The bathroom is a stunning location for hair and makeup. There is also a huge closet connecting to the bridal getting ready room. Making the getting ready space clutter free from all the bridesmaid’s belongings – it ends up being a lot!
When I arrived at Findon Place, Matt wasn’t quite ready. So I started with photographing some details they had requested. And then went to join Matt and his groomsmen in The Drawing Room. Matt really loved Vanity Fair style wedding portraits, so we took a quick set up with his bridal party. Then explored logistics with Caroline of how we could arrange the room for some portraits. The men then got to work moving some things around whilst I rejoined Loren and her ladies!
Because there was a delay with hair and makeup, Loren was putting her veil on after she was supposed to be at the church. As always I was the reassuring calm she needed, but I was definitely sweating! She still wanted bridal portraits, a first look with her girls and dad – and we were behind! But I had her downstairs and on the way to the church before 12:40. And she was at the end of the aisle less than 5 minutes latter.
Oh how I love that Findon Parish Church, St. John the Baptist, is such a close walk.
I make a promise to my couples that photographs will never delay the key moments of their day. And even in a time crunch, I didn’t let photography slow down getting them to the church.
Ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church, Findon
St. John the Baptist is beautifully positioned for incredible wedding photography. The proximity to Findon Place is just the icing on the cake.
And when the lychgate is decorated by Sage & Co – I mean just look! How absolute stunning are these images?
Findon Place Photos of Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast
During the drinks reception Matt and Loren wanted to take some succession-style family photographs. Think Vogue and Vanity Fair. Because the drinks reception was in the garden, we talked logistics and agreed having everyone come back up to the house would stress them out. So we did the bridal party in the Drawing Room, and whilst taking those the amazing Sage & Co arranged some flowers on the sunken garden (this is where couple’s have their outdoor ceremony).
I had rang her up a few days prior to the wedding asking if she thought that would be possible, and I was so delighted it was something she could do in this instance.
And once portraits were done, the couple mingled under the umbrellas and stylish summer hats that Findon Place provides – one of those brilliant details I was talking about! Then it was time to sit down for speeches and their wedding breakfast!
The food by Gastro Catering was incredible, as always!
Findon Place Couple Photos in the Gardens
After they had dessert – and whilst the other tables ate – the couple snuck away for a couple minutes. 16 to be exact from the first to last photograph I took of them walking back to the marquee. I always try to keep this to about 15 minutes tops unless couples really love having their photographs taken and spending time away from their guests. Being fast and efficient is my super power!
I absolutely love the way the gardens look in this evening light.
The Evening Reception at Findon Place
After the couple did a champagne spray on the lawns at Findon Place, we headed inside for their first dance! Loren and Matt tried to be so prepared for how to do the champagne spray, but in all their excitement one of them started (I won’t name names) whilst we were waiting for the videographer to change lenses! Thankfully the videographer and I jumped into action and were able to photograph the absolute choas whilst running into a better position.
The rest of the night was full of so much laughter and good music. And right before I was due to leave Matt asked if I could photograph him smoking a cigar and then remembered he’d wanted to saber a champagne! He hadn’t mentioned it to me and completely forgot to do it before the wedding breakfast, so we did it then in the garden under the flood lights.
