As a family photographer in Brighton, moments like these are so special. In the days prior to Baby O’s birthday, I got to document big milestones for this family.
Not only was it Olive’s birthday, but these two had just moved to Brighton! So before heading to the beach, we took a few photographs in their box-filled apartment while Baby O got comfortable around me. Big cameras and strange new people can be overwhelming for some children, so meeting in familiar territory can be helpful for shy, little ones. Especially for little one’s like Baby O who have had lots of big changes, such as moving house.
At-Home Family Photography & Beach Photoshoot
With a few photographs taken at home, Baby O and I made quick friends. It was a so lovely to interact with her and have her show me her favourite toys before we ventured out in the cold.
We also did a little first birthday cake smash photoshoot at home to celebrate her birthday! I love that she does this sassy little toss when she throws food she doesn’t like. And her parents were obsessed that I caught it on camera. It was a cute little cake smash to do at home.

Beach Photoshoot at Brighton Seafront
After the little cake smash session, we headed down to the windy beach! This was late October, so a bit chilly – and very windy! But the family was desperate to get some lovely photographs at their new beach. So we made quick work of it and thankfully Baby O was pretty happy getting loved on by her parents.
As a family photographer in Brighton, the beach is one of my favourite places to take photographs in the morning. It is so quiet and the light is just lovely. Plus, children are typically so much better behaved in the morning.

Family Photographer in Brighton
As a family photographer in Brighton, the beach is a popular choice for parents living in the city. But we are well and truly spoilt for choice. Many of my favourite locations are within forty minutes of the city centre. When choosing a location for your family photography in Brighton, here are 7 things to consider.
Till next time,
