The Best Engagement Party Venues in Brighton
1. Private Hire at Hixon Green in Hove
I can’t recommend this venue enough for small engagement parties. The food is great, the decor is modern, and there is enough room for a bit of dancing. The whole venue, or just the top floor of Hixon Green can be rented for private hire. If just the top floor, they can accommodate 35 people for a sitdown meal or 50 standing.
The great thing about this venue (as well as Six and Harbour Hotel, which are also on this list), is that it isn’t too far from the seafront. The seafront is a great place if you hired a photographer to take couple engagement-style photographs and any formal group portraits.

2. Private Hire at The Breakfast Club in Brighton
If you haven’t been to the breakfast club in a few years, it has had a gorgeous overhaul and is now the stuff of Instagram dreams. The Breakfast Club has a bit of an art deco meets punchy colours vibe – sort of like The Ivy, but more textures and fun patterns than art displays. You really can’t go wrong with booking here!

3. Function Hire at Six in Hove
Six is one of the trendiest Instagram hotspots in Hove with impeccable decor and good food. Six has two private hire spaces for your engagement party. Depending on which space suits you, they can accommodate between up to 60 in the smaller function room, or up to 140 in their larger space.

4. Private Hire at The Ivy in Brighton
While this whole list isn’t solely made up of restaurants, they do offer some of the best function spaces for an engagement party. And if you’ve been to one of The Ivy restaurants, you know The Ivy in the Lanes has a function room with the wow factor. And I promise it does not disappoint. 5. BA i360 and West Beach Private Hire
The British i360 has several private hire spaces, and the pod itself can be rented for under £1000! The sky pod also does a three-course dining experience in the evenings, making for an unforgettable celebration. The Toll Booth is one of my favourite spaces to rent and is perfect for a beachfront celebration.

6. Event Hire at No 32 in Brighton
No 32 is a gorgeous nightclub and restaurant – what better combo for an engagement party? The entire venue can be rented out for up to 350 people, but you can also reserve tables or private function rooms. Their smallest space can accommodate up to 40, which is perfect if you want a sit down meal with your nearest and dearest, and then expand out into the nightclub (without renting it out) as the night goes on. Their two largest spaces can accommodate up to 150 each, so this is a venue with loads of space.

7. Private Hire at The Salt Room in Brighton
The Salt Room is known for fine dining in Brighton and is tastefully decorated for an elegant party. Exclusive hire gets you a capacity of up to 120 guests, with the largest private dining space affording you 35 guests without renting the entire venue. The private dining room is great for slightly smaller seated celebrations of 16 guests. I really love this little room, as it is really bright with gorgeous, big windows.

8. Rockwater Function Hire in Hove
Rockwater is a thriving new seafront restaurant that opened in 2020. While the website doesn’t talk about hosting private events, I’ve heard the owner mentioning it before. It’s a brilliant space, and renting out the rooftop would be incredible for summer parties.

9. Function Hire at Brighton Harbour Hotel & Spa in Brighton
This venue is right on the seafront and does incredible food! The Marine Room is a personal favourite. It is a gorgeous white space that can fit up to 160 people for your engagement party. If you are looking for a space for private dining, you can have between 34-100 for dining in their main room. They also have a smaller room which can hold up to thirty people for drink or 30 for private dining.

10. Function Room Hire at La Piazza in Hove
La Piazza is one of my favourite restaurants and perfect for a dinner party with friends and family. The food is so good and the decor is brilliant. I’ve been to an engagement party here and their upstairs is honestly perfect for functions. I believe the upstairs holds about 80 guests, maybe more.

11. Private Hire at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton
Brighton’s Hotel Du Vin is tucked away right near the seafront and is steeped in history. Serving as one of the city’s top wedding venues, it is a great place to hold a private party with lots of options. The Dome is where weddings are usually hosted, so can accommodate a lot of guests, but they also have several other function rooms for smaller get-togethers like engagement parties or anniversary celebrations.

12. Event Hire at Patterns in Brighton
If you’re looking for a stylish club venue with an art deco vibe, Patterns is a brilliant choice. Patterns caters for 50-275 guests, or up to 400 with exclusive use. The also have The Hidden Room, which has its own bar and is perfect for engagement parties.

Want a stylish 1920’s venue and perhaps a bit of unusual entertainment? Proud Cabaret is a brilliant choice! I was a wedding photographer at Proud Cabaret a few years ago, and it was amazing. The couple opted for dinner and show, and it was so incredible and tastefully done. The layout of Proud Cabaret is really neat, and I particularly love the artwork on the ceiling. Want a modern party space with the perfect setup for the band? The Circle Arts Centre is an incredible choice for the ultimate engagement party. It’s a huge space and just screams engagement party of the year!

15. Function Hire at The Mesmerist in Brighton
The Mesmerist spans three floors, and the Flipside bar is one of my favourites for an elegant nod to the 1970s. The Flipside can host up to 80 guests and is available for exclusive hire Sunday-Wednesday. Though saying that, you can definitely make reservations for smaller groups. I also really love the rooftop terrace at this venue.

16. The Walrus Private Hire in Brighton
The Walrus extends over several floors, which can all be rented out for your private event. I attended a friend’s engagement party here, and I can highly recommend it. Each floor offers something different, from a night club, pub to restaurant or relaxed terraced garden – The Walrus literally has everything under one roof.

The Grand Central in Brighton is right near the translation, so can’t be much easier to get to! The Nightingale Room holds a little over 80 seated guests, and the noir decor is tastefully done.

The sea-facing lounge bar is a nice modern space that is brilliant for hosting a private engagement party of up to 100 guests. There is also a stage which is perfect for a live band, and nice lounge area to relax.

Last but not least, Brighton Pier has several restaurants and spaces for private bookings. Harratio’s Bar is ideal if you are looking for a bit more of an edgier space, and Palm Court is perfect if you want an elegant, light and airy beach vibe. Both spaces can hold over 300 guests.
