EASTBOURNE · EAST SUSSEX · WEDDINGS BY THE SEA
Eastbourne Wedding Photographer
Your wedding is for getting married, celebrating with your favourite people and having a bloody brilliant time. I’ll make sure you remember how it felt.
Eastbourne can give you a very particular mix: a proper wedding venue, a seaside town outside the door and the South Downs rising almost immediately behind it.
I’ve photographed weddings and couples in Eastbourne and along this stretch of East Sussex for years. What interests me isn’t collecting every recognisable backdrop. It’s working out which parts of the place actually belong in your wedding.

THE GRAND HOTEL · HOLYWELL · EASTBOURNE · EAST SUSSEX
You don’t need to turn your wedding into a tour of Eastbourne.
If you’re getting married somewhere like The Grand Hotel, you already have a beautiful setting and a room full of people you chose to spend the day with. We do not need to abandon both for an hour because the sea exists.
The location should add to the photographs, not take you away from the wedding.
If the coast, town or Downs matter to you, we can absolutely use them. I’ll think about the light, weather, travel and how much time you actually want to spend away from everyone. Sometimes that means a proper portrait pocket. Sometimes ten minutes is plenty.
And sometimes the best decision is staying exactly where the party is.
SEASIDE HOTEL · COAST · SOUTH DOWNS · YOUR PEOPLE
Eastbourne gives us options. We don’t need all of them.
The seafront can feel elegant, windswept, bright, grey, busy or wonderfully quiet depending on the day. Holywell looks completely different again, and the Downs change the scale of everything.
I’m not arriving with an Eastbourne shot list. I’m arriving ready to see what the day gives us.

HOLYWELL · EASTBOURNE
Coast without the crowds
Cliffs, sea and a quieter stretch of Eastbourne. Beautiful when it suits the day; entirely optional when it doesn’t.

EASTBOURNE · CHANGING CONDITIONS
When the weather rewrites the plan
Heavy fog rolled in for this Holywell session. We used the pocket of visibility we had rather than waiting for the coast to behave.

EASTBOURNE · SEA + TOWN
The sea, when it earns its place
If the coast is part of why you chose Eastbourne, we can use it without turning your wedding into a tour of every recognisable backdrop.
FIFTEEN+ YEARS OF WEDDINGS
A change of weather isn’t a change of wedding.
Coastal weddings come with one particularly useful lesson: you cannot control the weather, and you do not need to.
I’ve photographed Eastbourne in glorious conditions and in fog thick enough to make me wonder whether we would see much of anything. Experience means I’m not emotionally attached to one photograph that only works if the forecast behaves.
We work with the wedding that is actually happening.
If the wind is doing something brilliant with your veil, great. If everyone is happier inside with a drink, also great. I’ll make decisions around the people, the conditions and what you told me matters, rather than forcing Plan A because it looked good on Pinterest.

I know who I’m looking for.
Names, relationships and family dynamics give me context before the wedding begins. That helps me notice reactions faster and makes the organised photographs considerably more efficient.
I protect time for what matters.
If you’re excited about portraits, we plan for them. If drinks with your guests matter more, I’m not going to casually spend forty minutes of that time taking you for a walk along the seafront.
I photograph the things you couldn’t have planned.
The glance across the room. Somebody laughing before the punchline has even landed. The person standing just outside the obvious frame. That is where a lot of the story lives.
I’ll direct you when it helps.
I’m not interested in posing the life out of you. I’ll choose good light, give you something to react to and make small adjustments when they genuinely improve the photograph.
I adapt quickly.
Weather moves. Timelines move. People definitely move. Fifteen-plus years of weddings means I can change the plan without making the change feel like a crisis.
Your wedding is not a location shoot.
Eastbourne can look incredible in photographs. I still want you to remember the conversations, hugs, speeches, dancing and people that happened while I was making them.

EASTBOURNE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ
Planning a wedding in Eastbourne? A few useful answers.
Are you based near Eastbourne?
I’m based just outside Brighton and photograph weddings throughout Eastbourne, East Sussex and the South Downs.
Have you photographed a wedding at The Grand Hotel Eastbourne?
Yes. I’ve photographed a wedding at The Grand Hotel, and one of my couples specifically recommended me afterwards to anyone getting married there.
Can we have wedding photographs on the Eastbourne seafront?
Absolutely, if that is something you actually want. I’ll look at the light, weather, timing and travel involved and work out how to include the coast without letting it take over the day.
Do you photograph around Holywell?
Yes. I’ve photographed couples at Holywell and know how quickly conditions can change there. It can be beautiful, but I’d always plan around the weather and what is realistic on the day.
What if it rains or is very windy?
Then we adapt. I don’t build a wedding photography plan that depends on one exact patch of weather behaving itself. We’ll use what works and keep the day moving.
Do you photograph weddings outside Eastbourne?
All the time. I photograph weddings throughout Sussex, London and elsewhere in the UK and overseas.
What is your wedding photography style?
People-first and largely documentary, with thoughtful direction when it helps. I want the photographs to feel alive without making the wedding feel like a photoshoot.
How much does Eastbourne wedding photography cost?
My collections vary depending on coverage and what you want included. You can see current starting prices on my wedding pricing page, and you don’t need to choose the perfect collection before you enquire.
