For lovers like me of light and airy, Buxted Park Hotel wedding photography is so dreamy. The country house venue is a Grade II listed Palladian mansion. Buxted Park Hotel is surrounded by a beautiful park and set on a hill that provides beautiful sites.
It is an absolute honour to be a recommended wedding photographer at Buxted Park Hotel in Uckfield, East Sussex.
Summer wedding at Buxted Park Hotel in Uckfield
Rebecca and Mike had an incredibly special day at Buxted Park Hotel. Surrounded by their loved ones, they celebrated long and hard. While I only recently did their engagement photography at Sheffield Park, their wedding day was a long time coming.
You see, Mike knows a good thing when he’s got it. Even in the best man speech, there was a comment about how long it took Mike to propose. Apparently Mike said: “Everything is going so well with Rebecca, why would I change a thing?”
Little did Mike know that the best was yet to come. And it only took being asked 27 (or was it 37?!) times at her sister’s wedding, that something must have clicked. Not long after the wheels were set in motion and Mike asked Rebecca to be his wife.I feel incredibly fortunate that Rebecca and Mike chose me to document their Buxted Park Hotel wedding photos. Having photographed her sister’s wedding at Brookfield Barn, it felt like being around old family friends.

How this Buxted Park Hotel wedding couple met:
Rebecca + Mike met on a snowy night in 2012 at Infernos – a night club in Clapham. Mike was celebrating the Six Nations with friends and I was with friends, at the bar. Thanks to some liquid courage, Mike got up the nerve to approach Rebecca and after successfully wooing her, they exchanged numbers.
How they got engaged:
Mike took Rebecca back to the place they had their fourth date: Greenwich Park. He took her on a fairly strange route. They ventured up and down a lot of hills in an attempt to find a spot away from any crowds.
When he finally found the perfect spot, Mike asked Rebecca to point out buildings in the skyline to distract her. When Rebecca turned around to see Mike on his knee, she was in complete shock. So much so, It took her well over an hour of walking around the park before Rebecca could call her family.
Why the chose Buxted Park Hotel wedding venue:
Rebecca and Mike thought Buxted Park Hotel was a statement in itself and didn’t need much decorating. They really loved the architecture, the ponds and landscaping.
They could have also used Buxted Park Hotel for their wedding ceremony. But ultimately, they wanted to get married at Rebecca’s family church in Cuckfield.
Their inspiration for their Buxted Park wedding decor:
They wanted an elegant and classic vibe but one that also felt really fun, natural and relaxed. There were flowers and foliage dotted around. And the blue florals in particular matched really well with their personal details, such as the Spurs homemade cookies that served as guest favours.
Rebecca and Mike really wanted their wedding to reflect them. They put their own personal touches on everything. One of my favourites was using Polaroid photos for people’s place names.
Rebecca said Pinterest was a huge source of inspiration, and that’s where she fell in love with eucalyptus. Eucalyptus then became their main foliage for the wedding.
Review of their Buxted Park Hotel wedding photography:
