This Brighton Registry Office wedding was planned in a matter of days. T+H had booked me as their wedding photographer for September, but news came very suddenly that T's father was terminal. Reeling with the news, the family felt united in bringing the wedding forward if T's dad woke up from an induced coma. He promised he would. And if he did.
Brighton Registry Office Wedding
The couple planned this wedding for thee first availability the couple could secure at Brighton Town Hall. Time was not on their side and each day, T's father's health deteriorated.
Thankfully the couple had lots of connections and big back garden at T's parent's house to pull off the wedding celebrations. And even better, the rain and strong winds held out till after the main meal.
This family garden wedding felt like a secret garden and a completely hidden oasis. With tall hedges surrounding the house, it didn't feel like the property was in central Hove.
Getting Ready for Town Hall Wedding
I first headed to H's family home where his parents and best man were with him getting ready. The groomsmen dressed in their best suits and ties, and I honestly loved the causal, mixed vibe.
Once H was ready, I headed over to T's house to capture her getting in her dress and having a first look with her father. This was the one thing T was really looking forward to. And it was a gorgeous moment and the definition of a dotting father.

Brighton Registry Office Wedding in The Regency Room
T+H held their intimate wedding ceremony in the Regency Room at Brighton Town Hall. They really wanted photographs upstairs, but we were sadly discouraged from being able to enter after the confetti toss. So we decided to make a run for it whilst the confetti toss was being organised. In a whopping 3 minutes, we bolted up and down the stairs. And somewhere in between that leg exercise we took some gorgeous wedding photographs at Brighton Registry Office.

Intimate Garden Wedding Party in Brighton
With the bridesmaids bouquets serving as centrepieces, the decor at this intimate garden wedding was simple - yet perfect. This wasn't a wedding about the stuff - it was about the people who filled the space. Nothing else was needed but the presence and joy of loved ones.

This isn't my first end-of-life wedding celebration. Last year I had a couple in a similar position. That couple had a bit more time though, and planned their Brighton Registry Office wedding within 3 months. I sobbed while editing both these weddings because I saw so much love brought to the surface.
Till next time,
Kelsie
