Brighton engagement party venues are dotted around the city, but there was no better backdrop than Hixon Green for this couple’s celebration.
M+M had been in an international relationship at the time of their engagement. This engagement party was thus a celebration of being one step closer to kissing that long distance goodbye!
In their Christian Orthodox religion, the engagement period is recognised by their Church through a ring blessing. M+M described the day to me as a micro wedding. They had plans to do their wedding in the US, so this was their chance to celebrate with everyone on the bride’s side of the family before the big move.
Ring blessing ceremony and engagement party in Brighton
Following the engagement ring ceremony blessing at the Coptic Orthodox Church in Hove, M+M went to Rottingdean for some portraits. They then went home for a quick outfit change prior to heading to their engagement party at Hixon Green.
Rite of Betrothal ceremony at St. Mary and St. Abraam Coptic Orthodox Church
The Service of Betrothal at St. Mary and St. Abraam’s was a beautiful engagement ceremony. The spontaneous cheers and shouts still bring a smile to face to this day. There was so much love in that room. Just have a look at these engagement ceremony pics!
Rottingdean engagement photography
M+M originally booked me just for engagement photographs at the ceremony, but later upped to full day coverage of their day. At the time, they told me they both loved gorgeous garden and the sea, so Rottingdean was a clear winner. Kipling Gardens is about a 10 minute walk from the seafront. And with the beautiful cliffs on the seafront, Rottingdean is a great place for engagement photography.
Engagement party at Hixon Green
After a quick outfit change, M+M wowed their guests with a second look at Hixon Green for their engagement party. They rented Hixon Green’s private dining space on the top floor.
Before the party got started, we headed to the seafront for some evening couple portraits. These photographs were really important to M+M. The bride knew she’d miss the sea after moving to the US. So wanted photographs of the view she’d known her whole life.
Hixon Green is a great engagement party venue in Brighton. M+M rented the top floor of Hixon Green for their private party, and the function room was perfect for their small celebration. A Hixon Green private hire of the top floor accommodates up to 50 people.
