Brickwall House East Sussex Wedding Venue is one of the best venues for couple’s who want an English country garden wedding with a marquee reception. It has always been a huge honour to be a recommended wedding photographer at this venue, and a joy to return every year.
And this past August, I had the honour of returning to photograph Emma and Craig’s special day at Brickwall House.
They are family. I can think of no other word to describe their big love for each other and their loved ones. From dad as Craig’s best man, to the closeness Emma shares with her brother and sister-in-law, to how proud they are to be auntie and uncles.
It was just so lovely to see E+C again. We’d photographed their pre-wedding session in Rye at Mermaid Street and it’s something I always recommend to couples. So much so, I even wrote a blog post of the reasons why engagement shoots are a good idea.
How they Met
Emma and Craig’s story began at a friend’s birthday party, where the hit it off right away. They barely left each other’s side, leading to the exchange of numbers. A few days later, they had their first date at the iconic Skylon. From that moment on, their connection continued to deepen, evolving into a bond that felt like – and became – family.
Why They Chose Brickwall House East Sussex Wedding Venue
Emma, being a local of Northiam, envisioned tying the knot in the place she called home. Their desire for a traditional wedding led them to St. Mary’s Church. Plus the proximity to Brickwall House after the ceremony was a very compelling factor!
When they saw Brickwall House, they told me it felt very “us”. It was everything they wanted their wedding to be. The venue, with its charming gardens and versatile spaces, provided the backdrop for a day filled with love and laughter. Their love for the outdoors aligned perfectly with the venue’s offerings, allowing them to enjoy every moment surrounded by the beauty of nature.
They also loved that they had great locations to get ready. The groom got ready at Flackley Ash Hotel whilst the bride got ready at Brickwall House so she could take some stunning portraits on the stairs.
Their Vision for the Venue Decor at Brickwall House
For Emma and Craig, decorating Brickwall House East Sussex Wedding Venue meant extending the beauty of nature into their celebration. An abundance of flowers played a central role, creating an ambiance that incorporated the elegant English country garden.
And as enthusiasts of gin, they incorporated this love into their seating plan and table decor. The addition of furniture lounge spaces in the garden also helped them immerse their wedding into nature.
The couple’s goal for their english country garden was simple: they wanted their loved ones to be able to relax and enjoy themselves.
And that they did! Scroll to see this couple’s beautiful Brickwall House photos!
